Community Grant

A grant intended for a wide range of uses, including paying for utilities, fundraising, board and leadership development, salaries, meeting expenses, materials, or supporting a specific project/program.

Hilltop Microfinance Initiative

The Hilltop Microfinance Initiative (HMFI) aims to empower individuals by promoting financial independence and stimulating economic growth in and around D.C. HMFI achieves our mission through providing small business loans, personalized business consulting, citizenship loans, and credit-builder loans to low-income entrepreneurs and immigrants who are unable to access capital in the formal financial system. The grant will enable them to extend outreach for services to the greater Takoma Park area.

Local Maternity Thread

Local Maternity Thread’s mission is to establish maternity clothing closets as hubs for hyper-local peer-to-peer prenatal support.

Maple Tree Group

Since Spring 2019, the Maple Tree Group’s mission has been to work on empowering the immigrant community to improve their overall health and wellness. The Maple Tree Support Group’s work is unique in that it targets underserved community members with a focus on new immigrants.

Piney Branch Elementary School PTA

The Piney Branch Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PBES PTA) is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization made up of parents, caregivers, and teachers at PBES, working collaboratively with the school administration and staff to advance the mission of PBES and the support and success of all students and families in our school community.

Small Things Matter

Small Things Matter serves those in need in the greater Takoma Park area through its food, literacy, and crafting programs.

Standby Guardianship Project, Inc.

The Standby Guardianship Project came into existence in order to combat the significant level of fear and vulnerability being experienced and reported by immigrant parents, particularly at Rolling Terrace Elementary School. The Standby Guardianship Law in Maryland enables parents to appoint a temporary guardian in the event of an emergency, preventing children from entering the child welfare system if their parents are detained or deported.

Takoma Education Campus PTO

The Takoma Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) supports the education of students at Takoma through projects, programs, fundraising, and fostering positive relationships among the parents, teachers and staff of the school.

Takoma Park Lunch and Learn Inc.

The Takoma Park Lunch and Learn, Inc, is a nonprofit organization that provides a free six-week summer camp enrichment program (math, science, and reading), sports (swimming, soccer, yoga, chess, volleyball, basketball). and Social and Emotional Learning to underserved and FARM students who attend Montgomery County public schools located in Takoma Park and who reside in multi-family apartment buildings in Takoma Park.

The Civic Circle

The Civic Circle is a Silver Spring, Maryland nonprofit that brings democracy and civic learning alive for young children with music and drama shared in performances and after-school programs.

Village of Takoma Park

The Village of Takoma Park was founded in 2014 to provide much needed assistance to seniors and disabled members of our community, allowing them to age in place.
