Friends of Sligo Creek

This nonprofit community organization is dedicated to protecting, improving, and appreciating the ecological health of Sligo Creek and its surrounding watershed.

Nativus AG

A new non profit (Aug 2024) piloting a mobile farm stand for senior communities who are food insecure in Takoma Park NW.

New Hampshire Estates/Oak View ES PTA

This parent teacher association represents the highest poverty school in Montgomery County. The school lost over $400,000 in state/federal funding last year when it was removed from Title 1 status.

Takoma Art Library

The Takoma Art Library aims to provide free art supplies, reclaimed material, and inspiration to area residents. The organization directly serves underrepresented, underserved, and youth populations.

Solidarity Grant

A grant intended to demonstrate the Foundation’s commitment to larger nonprofit organizations whose work aligns with our mission in greater Takoma, and is generally used to support an organization’s overarching mission.

Community Bridges, Inc.

Community Bridges empowers girls from diverse backgrounds to become exceptional students, positive leaders and healthy young women by addressing the needs of girls and their families who are immigrant, minority and/or living at or below the federal poverty level in Montgomery County, Maryland and specifically residents of Takoma Park.

Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring

Since 1971, with a vision of a more resilient, compassionate, and interconnected community, Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TPSS) fulfills its mission of nourishing our community through the delivery of fresh, healthy, and delicious meals to our homebound neighbors.

Tommy’s Pantry

Tommy’s Pantry alleviates food insecurity and provides non-perishable food and fresh produce, and essential personal hygiene and household cleaning items to ensure a basic level of dignity for our neighbors experiencing hardship. Our most unique offering is wellness boxes containing personal health and hygiene and household cleaning items that can not be purchased with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-EBT) funds.
